Description
The Table Club are delighted to invite you to a webinar at 11:00am on Thursday 23rd September, with Melbourne based Kilara Capital as our hosts. Joining us from Kilara will be Managing Director – Ben Krasnostein, and CIO – Dougal McOmish, discussing how they plan to support the global transition towards a zero-carbon economy through investing growth capital in Australian SME’s which target both positive climate outcomes and outsized commercial returns.
From Family Office origins, Kilara Capital was established in 2017 as an investment platform specialising in origination and syndication of private investment opportunities in the food production and supply chain, & energy and carbon markets. On the back of strong market validation of their impact investment thesis, and growing investor interest outside of their initial syndicate network, Kilara is seeking to broaden their impact investment platform via the establishment of the Kilara Growth Fund (the Fund). In contrast to the many Early Stage investment vehicles which have been recently established to target the impact space, the Kilara Growth Fund will be one of Australia’s first growth equity impact investment vehicles; with a mandate which focusses on SME companies
Taking advantage of the deep origination networks established though the legacy Kilara Capital investment platform, the Fund has already secured exclusivity over two compelling seed assets, which will account for c. 15-20% of the total target portfolio. The Fund will also benefit from having access to pro-rata follow on rights over investments completed by the legacy Kilara platform, which include names such as Amber Electric, Fable Food Co, Mosa Meat, and Tasman Environmental Markets; giving investors high visibility over the nature of investments to be included in the Fund.
