United Overseas Bank Group Venture Management (UOBVM) – Webinar

The Table Club are delighted to invite you to a webinar at 10:30 AEST (8:30 SGT) on the 19th of August with United Overseas Bank Group Venture Management (UOBVM). Joining us from UOB will be Seah Kian Wee, MD of UOBVM, discussing their small and medium sized company (SME) growth investment opportunities fund in the ASEAN-China growth corridor.

The United Overseas Bank Group (UOB) was established in 1935 and is an acknowledged leader in the domestic retail and SME market in the ASEAN-China region, with over 500 offices in the region and branches in 11 cities in China. UOBVM was established in 1991 and has acted as the investment advisor for the ASEAN China Investment Fund’s (ACIF – the Fund); currently on Fund V and totalling more than US$750m in committed capital.

The Fund provides expansion capital and takes minority stakes in privately negotiated equity and equity related investments in small and medium sized companies, particularly those benefitting from rapidly expanding trade and investment ties between ASEAN and China. The Fund is opportunity driven however has a natural focus on “Happiness”, Well-Being, Technology, Industry 4.0 and Green Tech as the natural growth verticals in the region. In addition to the deal sourcing capabilities of UOB, which sees them review over 800 deals annually, the fund has the benefit of follow on investing in key opportunities from the four earlier vintage funds.
